This Sthanam is situated at a place called Katie in Arikkadi Village. a little north of Kumbla town At an elevated place east of the National Highway this Sthanam stands facing West. Legend has it that even though it was proposed to construct the Sthanam facing eastward, the direction was changed at the behest of the Devi. In this complex there are two Sthanams for the Bhagawathis, and there are separate Sthanams for Veeramar and Vishnumoorthi. In 1946 when the complex was renovated a separate Sthanam for Vishnumoorthi was built The renovation process was initiated in 1943 but due to various reasons it was stopped soon after. Meanwhile there was an epidemic of small pox in the surrounding area Dithered by this. the people took recourse to Asthamangala from which they derived that it is because Vishnumoorthi needed a separate Sthanam Hence a separate Sthanam for this delve had to be added. In 1992 this Sthanam was renovated once again. There are two idols here. One is for the main deity Uchholikadavu Bhagawathi and in the other both Punyakal Bhagawathi and Aayitta Bhagawathi are present. All other deities find a place in the second Sthanam Besides there is no Nagalaya here. The festivals being observed here are similar to those being held at the neighbouring Moral and Vamanjoor Sthanams There is no practice of holding Nadavali every year. ‘Tulapath’ festival itself may be considered as the annual utsava ‘Tulapath’ being the occasion to cook newly produced rice. during these festivities Payasam prepared with new raw rice and milk is offered as naivedyam and distributed amonast the devotees It is the practice for the Bunts of Perima.r Guthu to provide paddy needed for making this prasadam.
It is said that the lamp being lit at the Sthanam should be visible from the Guthu House and the lamp lit there should be visible from the Sthanam Three days before the festival our people from Karle are expected to offer fish to the Guthu house Even though two poojaris, eight kamavas and Daiva pathos are needed at this Sthanam. presently very few of them are there. There is no gudi for Babbarya in this complex People of this Sthanam worship Babbarya at the nearby gudi at Shiriya In olden days when Daivakattu for Babharya was being held here it was a practice was for the Dawes to visit the nearby Masjid as well as the house of a muslim lady named “Shiriya Pathu” There the Delve will touch the fire bowl in its hand to the roof of the house and the people from the house will offer coconuts and rice Moya households of Karle. Taleka. Arikkadi and Mutta belong to this Sthanam Dawes refer to this place as “Karlepuram” from which we may observe that once upon a time there must have been a good number of people residing around this place. People from Karle Sthanam used to offer service like erecting the dwajasthamba at the nearby Shedikavu Shankarnarayana Temple and Kanipura Gopalakoshna Temple. Way back in 1959 when an 11 year old boy belonging to this area became the daivapathri of Vishnumoorthi. it was a sensational happening and raised the curiosity of many.
